“La Torre, Town of Chess” is a unique public art project of its kind that has as its primary goal to transform La Torre,
in the Dominican Republic, in the first thematic town of Chess and Art in the world, encouraging them through educational activities, arts and sports, as well as by making La Torre a unique and attractive cultural tourism destination in the Dominican Republic.
It was initiated in 2009 by International Chess Federation Woman Master and Dominican visual artist, resident in Cologne, Eneida Pérez de Lücke.
